It can snow any month of the year up here that’s no surprise if you have lived here a while. The past few days have bin a taste of every season. We should be wearing sandals and shorts in a few days again but today will be a thermos of hot coffe and wading jacket day on the water.
This weekend was cold and windy but that just makes for good big fish chop at sawmill and the rivers still kicked out some nice fish as well. Flows are stabilizing and bugs are getting more active. I have bin spending a lot of time fishing stillwaters this year and will probably continue to do so until we can fish all the normal summer spots and spread out more. I think the East Carson is still a month out and canyon section of the Truckee probably the same. Until then Sawmill Lake and any of the local reservoirs will most likely be were you find me. Don’t let the snow scare you we will be full summer mode by end of the week again. If you are planning a tahoe vacation and want to schedule a guide trip call now we are starting to fill up thru June and early July. See you out there-Jay
