Summer is in full effect here minus the crowds. We are seeing a lot of runoff still but that is going to be the norm this year. On the south side I would still count out the East Carson, however the west is fishable wither the rite tactics. Finding slow deep buckets and fishing big flys will get a few takes, also slow stripped streamers in back eddies can be killer.
Up on the north end the Truckee is high but clear, the big T is always challenging so not much change there. We have pmds in the drift but fish still seem to be looking for big meals (sj worms, pats rubber legs, glow bugs, ect.) Flows on the Little Truckee have bin all over the place. Bugs are there tho and fish are paying attention to them. Find the rite water for the current flows and you should have a shot. Midges, pmds, bwos, small sj’s, green drakes, beetles, ants should all be in your box. Stillwater’s are kicking out fish as well, bass are in dam areas of prosser and stampede and can save frustrating day on river.
Fishing this time of year can be dynamic and ever changing but if you can get here before the crowds over the next week or so do it! The good days are lights out! We also opened sawmill lake last week and it’s really good rite now. Call the shop for more info or to book a trip. See you out there-jay
