American River Spring Shad Run Float Trip
The Spring Shad Run on the American River through Sacramento is an epic float adventure!
Starting out in late-April the shad move up into the river system to spawn and these hard-fighting fish can be a blast on a fly rod with light tackle. As Spring goes on the fish start to stack up through the city and the action can be consistent and a great time on the water.
Join our experienced guides for a fun float on the American River. All fishing gear and equipment is provided.
WHAT’S INCLUDED:
6-7 hours on the water guided fly fishing from a drift boat or raft
All fly rods. You are welcome to bring your own rod. As space is limited please let us know beforehand if you’re bringing your own rods or gear
All flies and terminal tackle
Water and light snacks

Sunscreen/Hat
Sunglasses or eye protection
Loose and comfortable clothing or sun protection
Layering - jacket or sweatshirt or layering for the cold mornings

WHERE TO MEET YOUR FISHING GUIDE:
The float is on the American River and guests will meet their guide at the Sailor Bar boat ramp. Your guide will be in contact with you prior to the trip date to have a strategy for shuttles and take-out points.
LIMITATIONS: Guests are responsible for their own transportation to the Sailor Bar boat ramp.
Children/Adults ages 8 and up are welcome. Minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. All guests must have good health standing, determined by Tahoe Fly Fishing Outfitters and sign Release of Liability forms prior to the excursion.
Terms of Booking and Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations made 7 days or more in advance of scheduled trip will receive a 100% refund. Cancellations made within 7-3 days prior to your scheduled trip will be charged 50% of guide rates or services. Cancellations made within 72 hours of the scheduled trip will not receive a refund or transfer and will be charged full guides rates.
