THE TRIP
Saddle up to far corners of the Golden Trout Wilderness on horseback to private camps surrounded by the beauty of the high-sierra. An unbelievable adventure touching the wildness of the sierra.

THE CAMP
The group will access two different camps on horseback to sleep under the stars in your own tent. Dutch oven cooking by our guides and nights spent with stories and libation around the campfire.

THE FISHING
This is an epic adventure and Introduction to Backcountry Fly Fishing. The Golden Trout Wilderness is full of high-sierra lakes and streams and the native home to the fabled Golden Trout.
4 Day Trip To The Wilderness
Day 1: Arrive at the Pack Station at 9 AM. Gear-up and get ready for 4 hour ride through the Sequoias. Once at Camp we’ll settle in and have an afternoon of gear setup and workshops on high sierra fly fishing. We’ll share a relaxing evening around the campfire under the stars and gaze of the surrounding peaks.
Day 2: Your guide will begin the day with casting and entomology clinics around camp and then the group will venture out in the morning to find streams and lakes to target fish throughout the day.
Day 3: Instruction and focus will switch to high sierra lake fishing with a day trip to Summit Lake to learn stillwater techniques targeting wild rainbow and brown trout.
Day 4: Take in the morning with a farewell breakfast and get organized for the ride out. We’ll arrive back to the Pack Station and gear-down hug it out before departing.
Out of the Kitchen
Food and Drink around camp can make a good trip great.
Our wilderness guides have been cooking in the backcountry out of dutch ovens for decades and cook up the finest meals cast iron can put out.
We will work with you to tailor meals for the group and take care of all the cooking and clean-up so that you can enjoy the wilderness around you.
Bring your own alcohol and other beverages for the trip.

Sequoia National Forest - Golden Trout Wilderness
The Golden Trout Wilderness is located in both the Sequoia and Inyo national forests and encompasses 475 square miles of pristine lakes, jagged peaks, and lush green meadows. The elevation of the Sequoia portion ranges from 4,800 feet to 12,432 feet. Vegetation includes grey and pinyon pine woodlands at lower elevations; Jeffrey pine at mid-elevations; and red fir, lodgepole, and foxtail pine at higher elevations. Approximately 150 miles of trails are located on the Sequoia National Forest portion.

There is no cell service at the Pack Station or in the wilderness and on the trail. Guests are welcome to bring satellite communication devices as long as load is within weight limitations for your group.
